Beets and Beef Cupcakes Dog Treat Recipe

Ingredients

Pup cakes

  • 1 cup pureed beets
  • 1/2 pound ground beef cooked and drained
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup brown rice flour

Icing

  • 1/4 cup pureed spinach
  • 1 8 ounce block cream cheese room temperature

Instructions

Pup cakes

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit and lightly spray silicone pans with nonstick oil.
  • Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until well combined.
  • Spoon mix into the molds.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the middle come out clean.
  • Cool 5 minutes in pan then remove and place on wire racks to cool completely.

Icing

  • In a bowl combine the cream cheese and pureed spinach until smooth.
  • Fill piping bag and pipe on top of pupcakes.

Notes

I used canned shoe string beets. A 15 ounce can, drained, yielded 1 cup of puree. I used Pastries 4 Pets dog safe sprinkles as decoration.
