Blueberries and Beets Waffles Dog Treat Recipe

Equipment

  • waffle maker

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pureed beets
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup blueberries

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron and spray with cooking spray.
  • In a small bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and cinnamon; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix milk, honey and pureed beets; pour over flour mixture, and mix.
  • Once mixed, fold in blueberries.
  • Following manufacturer's instructions, cook waffles until deep brown and crisp.

Notes

I used canned shoe string beets. A 15 ounce can, drained, yielded 1 cup of puree.
