Hi there!! i was wondering, can you substitute the honey with something else? thank youuuu
You can use molasses for a different flavor, or are you trying to avoid the sweet all together?
I’ve made several of your recipes and they’re all great. For the peanut butter honey banana can I use wheat or rice flour in place of oat flour? Thanks.
You sure can Maria, you shouldn’t have to change anything else to make that substitution either. I’m glad you’re finding recipes you and your pups like. Woof!
My dogs love your cheddar Apple ginger treats! I’d like to make the pb, honey & banana but one is allergic to peanuts. Any thoughts on a sub for the peanut butter? He’s also allergic to sweet potatoes :(. Thank you!
I’m allergic to peanuts too Lisa so I feel your pups pain! Almond butter is a good substitute, would that work for you?
Thank you! I will give it a try, never thought of that!
Let me know how they like it Lisa!
Hello to you & a great morning!! :)
I wanted to let you know, that I’ve tried a few of the recipes that you’ve shared and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart <3
I have not gotten store bought treats in almost a year now and my fur babies just LOVE the treats I've made, using your recipes. If they could, {Max, who is a 145 lb Black Lab and Nibblet, who is a 12 lb Jack Russell, Pekingese & Terrier mix.} they would eat every single one I make. I don't make just one batch; I make 3 at a time and they are gone in a week! {Of course, I make the "cookies" bigger than making 1/2" balls.} :) Thank you again. Merry Christmas!
Thank you for your kind words Sharon. I’m so happy your finding recipes that Max and Nibblet like, my goal is to help make more pups happy and healthy.
You have a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!
Please use extreme caution when recommending almond butter as many I’ve seen include macadamia nuts, which are toxic to dogs. I found this out when I was looking for almond butter for my pup during her food trial. Since I couldn’t find almond butter without macadamia or other nuts in it, I used sweet potato instead (I was looking for something her veterinary dermatologist recommended as acceptable during a food trial, and they only rec either sweet potato or almond butter).
This is the first time I’ve visited your site, and I do appreciate the fresh and healthy recipes. Thank you!
Thank you Natalie, I had no idea some of them contained macadamia nuts! I guess I’ve been lucky and I’ve only had to avoid those with sugars and other unneeded junk.
I did find a recipe for making your own almond butter (I haven’t tried it myself) and I’m a huge fan of making it yourself! Woof!

I recently rescued a shar pei mix will all sorts of skin issues. Doc says she needs grain free everything. the cost of grain-free treats led me to seek baking options and I found your adorable site. Can I sub grain-free flours such as buckwheat and garbanzo in your recipes that call for oat and other flours?
