Happy Thanksgiving
I have so much to be thankful for this year I hardly know where to begin! I have my wonderful family and of course two great dogs as well as many many friends that I consider family.
This Thanksgiving I send my love to all of them and I want to send a heartfelt thank you to all of my visitors.
This blog started off as a way for me to share my hobby with the three friends nice enough to visit (thanks guys) and now I have so many wonderful people making my recipes and I’ve found so many other wonderful blogs .. I can hardly begin to express how Thankful I am for everything that’s happened this year and everyone that’s visited my little space on the web.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all and a Pumpkin Carob Treat for your doggys!
Pumpkin Carob Treats
Ingredients
1 (15 ounce) can of Pumpkin (non-spiced)
1 (8 ounce) package Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 tablespoon ground Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
3 cups Whole Wheat Flour
3 tablespoons Carob Powder
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
Mix all ingredients, except for the carob powder, in a large bowl until well combined.
Separate dough into three egual sections and knead one tablespoon of carob powder into the dough until it is mixed and marbled to your liking. Roll dough onto a floured surface 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter of your choice and poke with a fork to prevent air bubbles. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until browned at the edges.
I brushed the tops of the treats with egg whites for a shiney look.
Cool and refrigerate.
Makes 2 to 3 dozen paws.
* If you’re not interested in the ‘marbled’ look just add the carob to the other ingredients and you will end up with and carob colored treat.
