I didn’t know they could eat walnuts. I have a lasso poo (1 year) and a schnauzer (7years). This is something they will love.

My understanding is that the walnut shells are what dogs need to aviod. The shells can irritate the stomach or block the intestion and shells that have gotten wet can also grow a mold that is very poisonous and can be deadly. So it’s more of an issue with letting dogs eat whole (shelled) walnuts off the ground. But if you can leave them out of the recipe if you like. Woof!

    Isn’t nutmeg toxic to dogs?

I used the ASPCAs recomendations when picking ingredient s for my recipes Rose and this is what they say about nutmeg:
‘If eaten in large amounts, [the spice’s volatile oil] can cause vomiting and abdominal pain as well as central nervous system excitation. These initial symptoms are usually followed by profound drowsiness several hours after consumption.’
But feel free to omit it if you don’t feel comfortable feeding it to your pups.
